Bloodshot (2020) Movie Review

I thought we were beyond the truly terrible comic book movies. I thought we were beyond The fantastic four, Daredevil, Batman forever, Batman & Robin, Superman 4: The quest for peace, Steel (starring Shaqueel O’Neill)… I thought we will never see a truly bad comic book movie ever again. Well, I was wrong. I know there was going to be trouble when I found out this movie is directed by the same director who directed Fantasy island. A movie I didn’t like at all. So, the main character in this movie is Ray Garrison, an elite soldier who was killed in battle and is brought back to life by nanobots for blood and that gives him the ability of super human strength and fast healing. Kind of like the Wolverine of X-Men. With his new abilities, he goes after the man who killed his wife, or at least, who he believes killed his wife. Sounds like a good simple revenge story, right. So why the fuck are they complicating everything in this movie with stupid side plots. It took me out of the movie. The acting in this movie is really bad, the CGI is terrible as well. This movie feels like it should have come out in 2003. I guess the only thing I can recommend is some entertaining fight scenes and the basic revenge. That’s pretty much it. I think if you watch it from a guilty pleasure perspective, you’ll probably enjoy this movie.

I didn’t, though. 5/10*
