Who doesn’t love this movie, honestly? It’s got two actors in their comedic prime… Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. They work so well together here. I don’t think this movie would have worked that well if it weren’t for these two actors.
So, the plot is that Harry and Lloyd are very close friends and they’re also really hilariously stupid. They set out on a cross country trip from Providence to Aspen, Colorado to return a briefcase full of money to a beautiful woman named Mary Swanson. After a trip full of one iconic mishap after another, they eventually make it to Aspen and we get some more iconic comedy.
This movie really never gets old. No matter how many times I watch it, I still laugh. If I have to point out one flaw, it’s the acting from most of the side characters. But, they’re only side characters and their appearances are brief, thankfully.
I honestly don’t know how to grade this movie. I guess a double grade would do it justice. 10/10* for entertainment and 7/10* for the acting and a basic plot.
