The entire cast is back in town for their 13th high school reunion and the boys are out for a good time. Jim is still happily married, but the sex life isn't going so well. The opening scene is absolutely hilarious and sets the tone for the entire movie. I was a bit worried by the Stifmeister, after the first scenes where they show him, as he wasn't that funny, but things quickly turned around and he really carried the movie. In fact, without the Stifmeister in the middle of everything, this movie wouldn't have been nearly as funny.

While I enjoyed this movie, I'm not sure how well it stands on its own. There were some hilarious situations, but they were only super hilarious if you had seen the previous films in the series. For example, the video of Jim being posted on YouTube is hilarious if you know what happened in that video, otherwise it's just kind of dumb. But that's the thing about this film. It's a perfect fit for the series and for all of the fans.

The other great thing about this film is the nostalgia that it brings back. I'm a bit younger than the characters in the film, but still couldn't believe how much things have changed in the last 13 years. The film really hits home at the final dance as I could here half the audience singing along with The Freshmen...a true classic for those of us who grew up during this time period.

This film isn't going to hit home with a younger audience, but should score well with those in the 25-35 age range and give you a chance to go back and live those glory years again. The film is funny but touching at the same time.

My Conclusion:
If you're a fan of the American Pie series, this one's for you.
