This is again a beautiful looking movie with a great villain or shall I say villains and a great personal story for James Bond. This is the third great Daniel Craig movie. The guy’s a badass. He can pull off great stunts and fight scenes. The action scenes are memorable here. I mean, Daniel Craig is a strong guy, but, he gets pushed to the limit here and GETS! HIS! ASS! KICKED! Dave Bautista is an animal, a pro wrestler and a 198cm, 132kg human mountain. The fight scene on the train is one of the best James Bond fight scenes ever, if not the best. It’s BRUTAL! I really hope Hinx returns in No time to die. He was great in this movie. Kind of a combination of Oddjob from Goldfinger and Jaws from The spy who loved me and Moonraker
I really don’t get these low ratings on this movie online. It only has a 6,8/10* on IMDB… The most common complaint being the plot. Let’s look at it…
According to IMDB, a cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a mission to Mexico City and Rome where he meets Monica Belucci’s character Lucia Sciarra, a widow of an infamous criminal. He then attends a secret meeting and finds out about the sinister organisation S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Meanwhile, the new head of the Centre of National Security, questions James Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by the new M in this movie, Ralph Fiennes. James Bond asks Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him find out Madeleine Swann, played wonderfully by Léa Seydoux, the daughter of one of his reoccurring villains in these new movies, Mr. White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the key clue to S.P.E.C.T.R.E’s evil plans. Daniel Craig and Léa Seydoux are great together in this movie. She understands him in a way others can’t. As he begins to uncover more and more about S.P.E.C.T.R.E., he learns a chilling connection between him and the main villain of this movie, Blofeld played by Christoph Waltz.
I love this movie. The only real issue I have is the MI6 stuff. I didn’t really find that part of the story interesting and I just wished for a quick return back to the good stuff. I would have given this movie 10/10* as well, but, because of this subplot that bothered me, I’m giving it an 8,5/10*
