This is a Roberto Benigni comedy that had me in stitches. In this Italian movie, the main character Loris is an anti-social guy with an overactive sex drive. The comedy in this movie begins very early on when he makes some moves on the wrong woman at a party. Hysterical, she files a police report against him and the police chief thinks that they finally found a serial killer and sex addict they’ve been looking for a long time.
The movie is just a hilarious compilation jokes and and ridiculous moments and mistaken identity from there on out. I don’t think this movie would have been as funny if anyone other than Benigni would have been cast. He gives a very physical performance here. Peak Jim Carrey, Ace Ventura-like performance. Without him, this would just have been a modern badly-reviewed, over-saturated with sex jokes forgettable comedy.
Don’t you dare skip this movie! Go watch it! 8,5/10*
I would have given it the perfect grade, but, towards the end, the movie kind of dragged. This is still a very good comedy and I highly recommend it.
