The prestige is a mysterious story of two magicians whose intense rivalry leads them on a life-long battle for supremacy, full of obsession, deceit, and jealousy, with dangerous and deadly consequences. From the time that they first met as young magicians on the rise, Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) were competitors. However, their friendly competition evolves into a bitter rivalry making them fierce enemies-for-life, and consequently jeopardising the lives of everyone around them.
I’m going to talk about a lot of positives now. And just the positives, because I haven’t got a single negative with this movie. The performances and the story and all the plot twists in this movie are all really great. It always kept me interested. The movie is pretty slow-paced sometimes which makes the runtime of this movie longer than it actually is. Some might consider this an issue, but it didn’t bother me. The story was great, the characters were interesting, I was invested the whole time so it didn’t bother me. And there was also somebody who’s not primarily known as an actor and his appearance and his performance as a certain character threw me completely off guard. If you’ve seen the trailer or the movie, you’ll for sure know who I’m talking about. I’m not going to spoil it, just in case you haven’t seen the movie before or the trailer! This is a spoiler-free movie review page, after all
As I said I don’t have a single flaw with this movie so I’m giving it 10/10*! See this movie! I can’t recommend it enough
