James Bond must resolve a potentially deadly power struggle between two unstable countries over the control of the world’s oil supply. He becomes a bodyguard of Elektra King (Sophie Marceau and is trying to spoil Renard’s (Robert Carlyle) evil plan, a villain who survived a shot to the head which means he can’t feel pain which makes him hard for James Bond to overcome in this movie.

I’m sorry, but I found this movie aggressively boring. I just couldn’t finish it in one sitting. A first for a James Bond movie. Bad acting from pretty much everyone, underwritten villains, overused plot… Thankfully, the action scenes and some good humor partially save this movie for me. Also, Robbie Coltrane is in this movie. Yes, Hagrid is in this movie. Speaking of which, the Harry Potter franchise is the next franchise I’m covering after the Daniel Craig James Bond movies and the Lord of the rings trilogy. Look forward to all of those until the end of the month.

Also, this is Desmond Llewelyn’s last movie as James Bond gadget master and the best comic relief in these movies, Q. He was in every single James Bond movie since 1963’s From Russia with love. 1962’s Dr. No was the only movie in which he didn’t appear in. If he didn’t die in 1999 at age 85, I dare say that he would have appeared at least in the first Daniel Craig movie. Rest in peace!

Guys, this movie sucks… 5,5/10*
