A fresh take on Charles Dickens’ semi-autobiographical novel, The Personal History of David Copperfield. This movie is set in the 1840’s and shows the life David Copperfield as he navigates a chaotic world to find his place within it. From his unhappy childhood to the discovery of his gift as a storyteller and writer, his journey is sometimes hilarious and sometimes tragic, but always full of life, colour and humanity. The story was ok, I liked the cast, but some charm was missing in this movie for me to really hook me. I can’t really put my finger on it. Another straight to TV movie, honestly. 6/10*
