The movie takes place in 1327 and after a mysterious death in a Benedictine Abbey, the monks are convinced that the apocalypse is coming. With the Abbey to host a council on the Franciscan’s Order’s belief that the Church should rid itself of wealth, William von Baskerville, a respected Franciscan friar, is asked to assist in determining the cause of death. More deaths occur as the investigation draws closer to uncovering the secret the Abbey wants hidden.

Another who-dun-it with Sean Connery! This one’s even darker than the last one in every way. The story, some disturbing scenes that won’t leave your memory for a while. It is yet again another unique Sean Connery movie! 8/10*
